HipShot Lomo Camera Bag - A Review!

Even though I just bought this I'm including it in my buy list of 2009. The Lomography Hipshot Camera Bag is designed for their LC-A

This is the camera the bag is designed for.

The bag comes in two colors as pictured above. I actually use the bag for a GX200.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I ordered the bag from Amazon and it didn't come with instructions. I was able to poke around for the pdf at the lomo website. I was going to knock down the bag a few points for not fitting as snug as I would want to. The Hipshot camera bag feels like it's made out of leather but is actually water resistant plastic. Everything feels well made and sturdy. There's also a very nice cushy feel to it and it makes me feel confident that if my camera was dropped inside of this bag it would fair ok. The 2nd compartment wasn't big enough to hold my slave flash but I was able to store extra batteries, cables, and a cleaning cloth.

At full retail price $35 I think this bag is defitnately worth it. I broke a point and shoot camera by having it in my pocket so I'm willing to have an camera bag on my hip even if it stands out a little funky like. You can also shoulder carry it but I'm scared of having it swing around. Even though I'm carrying around a point and shoot the bag does make me look like I'm serious about my photos so I don't feel too goofy with it. I might do away with the orange strap though, it just doesn't match what I wear!

In highschool I had an early interest in web design and photoshop. I didn't have the best skills but I did make a few club fliers and other advertisements in my early college years. I then gave up on it with the thinking that I should just give my best ideas to my more talented friends and let them run with that. Over time I discovered that even though they may think I have an awesome money making idea for a tshirt the project is going to be low priority for whatever else is on there minds.

I figure the best way to jump into it besides the continuing education classes in Photoshop would to acutally learn how to draw. All the community college classes were full our not compatible with my schedule so this is what I found:

Art Academy of San Diego: $230 For 7 Weeks
San Diego Art Dept.: $180 For 6 Weeks
UCSD Extension: $275 Semester

Not sure about teaching myself but I might pick up the book anyways since I like reading about how the brain works. Art Academy I found on google but it seems like everyone love the art dept. Totally not paying for the UCSD Extension class. One thing the art academy has over the art dept is spray can classes!

I'll update when I take my first class.

Forum threads attack back with their own replies lowering your ego bar which equate to hit points.

There are other basic rpg elements like shops, character upgrades, items, quests, side missions, and npcs.

The beauty of the game is that you play as someone who is fighting against the internet as someone that people usually hate on the real internet. The humor is freakin awesome too!

Cloverfield

I saw Cloverfield Friday with Tenchi, Archie, and Jennika. We came out of the theater split 50/50 on recommending the movie. We weren't split on the storyline or how the story was told but on the fact that Archie and Jennika got sick from watching a shaky cam. Some theaters have warnings due to people puking in the theater. Oh well, I'd like to quote Eye on this one and say its the best US monster movie to come out in a very very long time. It does a good job of showing how a group of people may react to such an event.

Ended up at Herchel's house after the movie for drinks. Met Gail whose birthday is coming up next friday at On Broadway. Looks like I'm going to have about 100 people in that club then Saturday its off to Faces for Juicy, and because Neo is back in town!

3D Tetris is Diabolicaly Hard

Tetrical is a 3-d version of Tetris that actually makes me feel stupid. I've never had a tetris game own me so much since Tetrical. Part of me wants to not count this game as a tetris like game because there are some new pieces but I feel like that would be a cop out. I can't even clear more than one line in an entire game! You can rotate the blocks you dropped on all four sides but you can't get a top down view so you have to guess/memorize where the holes are in the middle of the pile of blocks you have. As you can see in the screen shot I have all sorts of places where I left holes. This is officially my brain warm up exercise before home work or other strenous brain activity.

San Diego University Library Battle Royale!!!

Here at USD they call the Hill Reading Room the Harry Potter Room. You can't tell too much by this overhead shot but all the wood furniture does look like right out of a Harry Potter set!

This got me thinking about the libraries of the big 3 universites. I got to say that for the most expensive school USD library is retro in a very uncool way. They do say they're going to have a redesign this year and I sure hope so. The place really looks dated. Even their floor plan is dated!Sad!

The SDSU Love library looks normal from the outside but the dome hides vast subterranean levels! OK maybe a just a few floors.

Ohhhh yeah look at this. I think it's sexy. Funny though I picked one up in a hurry last march because I fried my desktop computer. I put it next to my tv, blocking airflow. Oh how stupid. Anyways I got lucky and picked up a dv9220us that was a display model for about 1,000. Quite a steal.
Look! There's a numeric key pad! Woot! My friends think I'm crazy for carrying a 7 pound 17 inch laptop but I want my huge screen size. I don't find it so hard to lug around, but then I'm used to carrying odd bulky things. I just wish I had a firewire port instead of 4 usb slots. I really don't need more than 2!

Windows Vista must have wasted at least a week of my time. Vista has the most RANDOM instances of Blue Screen of Death. You can be doing anything or nothing then BAM! Restart!

Then there were all the compatibility issues, driver searching, crashed IE and FireFox sessions, and trying to get 3 seperate hard drives to work when it turns out I had to reinstall windows to get my usb ports working. Such a pain!

If I had to choose between a C64 interface where I had to type commands or Vista I would be happy to type RUN BOOT all day long. At least I know it'll never crash on me!!!

When I first heard the buzz about the revolutionary BBP laptop bags I told myself "I'm going to be all over this when I have a laptop!" and well now I have a laptop soooooooo time for a new bag!

This bag system is pretty complex , because it transforms from back pack to messanger bag. I don't mind complicated things myself if it leads to overall ease of use. It's less strenuous on your back because it hangs over your ass. Oh and it dosen't give you a sweaty back when you're walking long distances with it.

It also has the serious protection I need for my crazy ass lifestyle like ballistic nylon, impact plastic, foam lining, pads for where the bag touches your body, large buckles, and super tough stitching.

This reminds me... I might as well write about my laptop in a review! haha

Jimi Wallet - Want List

This mysterious "Stealth" object is a Jimi wallet. You can't really tell by the picture but it's a slim wallet that holds 5 cards and has an internal money clip. This is the only image I could pull off the site. It is way better to check out the flash demo on their website The Jimi.

To me this is a big upgrade from Wallet 2.0 which is starting to fall apart on me. It wasn't too convenient to use either but it did score me a lot of style points. I'll have to write up a proper review on it later.

You can import your contacts from your email, Myspace, Facebook, and more and Spokeo well list what's been updated recently on their profiles. Since it is a 3rd party website it doesn't have all the features News Feed does. It only picks up public information you can get from viewing a person's profile and it does not have access to see who writes comments to who.

Pictured above, you can see some of the contacts I imported on the left. In the middle are some facebook posts someone made and then to the right of that is a snapshot of the person's profile.

Go do it! You can see all the recipes I beat like hot chocolate and fruit smoothies.
When people look at me funny when I say Rich and Creamy you can't deny I stole the name from food advertisers.

I've been treating quarter age like middle age in an effort to look quarter age when I'm middle age!

Anyways, since my metabolism has significantly slowed down and I can't get away with eating carne asada fries everyday I try to replace foods I used to eat with stuff that's better for me. I picked these up one day because of the large 35% daily fiber content graphic on the box. I expected something coarse and dry but found out it's delicious. Not delicious as in "its pretty good for a healthy snack bar" because it is way better than cliff bars and even better than a kudos bar. A kudos bar is almost a candy bar anyways, but even when I compare candy bars to this stuff I'd rather take the Fiber One. The bars are complex and dense in flavor. I could chew on a single bite and squeeze out taste that I put off swallowing. So, I eat this snack slowly, enjoy it, and it keeps me from being hungry in between meals.

Turning 25 I knew that I'm going to getting wrinkles soon. I picked this up to premptively strike against aging skin. For a face cream under $20 I think it's working very well. In a few weeks people who see me everyday could notice the difference. I still get carded for lotto sometimes!

I'll be showcasing here products and stuff I use everyday, as part of using this blog to show you my lifestyle.

Oh man I haven't used my blogger account since the begining of 2006. When it came to personally blogging I moved on to myspace and xanga.

So why am I back here? Well since it's the first post, it's obligatory to write about what it is I'll be writing about.

Well, I won't be writing too much about my personal life here since I still have myspace and (rarely) xanga. I'll be setting out to do what I've put off for so long, a blog about things I find interesting.

Hmm... on first review that sounds rather boring but I promise I'm an interesting guy ;) This blog after all will be listed under the contact page of berichandcreamy.com

I tend to blog like I'm talking to myself or as if my audience is that of friends. This is mainly because I like my blogs to be notes to my future self about life as it is now. I'll be serving up commentary on events, places, people, and websites in a hybrid review/snap shot of my life format.
